Use the Recreation Impact Monitoring System to submit a backcountry experience report

It is crucial that land managers hear about backcountry experiences on public lands, both positive and negative experiences. This information helps us work with land managers to determine the appropriate recreation management action for particular lands.

Thanks to our friends at Winter Wildlands Alliance, it’s now easier than ever to submit a report that goes directly to the proper management agency. The Colorado Mountain Club’s Recreation Impact Monitoring System (RIMS) is an easy-to-use app that delivers information about your backcountry experience directly to land management agencies.

The app can be used to submit data on use patters and negative experiences.

It is critical that the Lolo National Forest hear about your winter recreation experience now, in advance of the forest plan revision process.
